Ex-NFL Players Ordered To Drop New Publicity Rights Suits

Law360, New York (September 6, 2013, 8:45 PM EDT) -- A Minnesota federal judge on Friday ordered attorneys for hundreds of former National Football League players who opted out of a recently settled class action over publicity rights to drop two separate suits, finding they had violated “the letter and the spirit” of an injunction.

U.S. District Judge Paul A. Magnuson had harsh words for the attorneys, who represent class members unhappy with the $50 million settlement of the class action alleging the NFL misused players' names and likenesses in producing films and selling products....
