FilmOn Must Pay Networks $1.4M Owed In Copyright Fight

Law360, Los Angeles (September 10, 2013, 7:59 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Tuesday ordered FilmOn X to pay CBS Broadcasting Inc. and other networks $1.35 million, plus interest and attorneys' fees, for failing to pay the full amount it owed under an October 2012 settlement ending a copyright suit brought by the networks.

U.S. District Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald found the online television streaming service and its CEO, Alki David, in breach of the terms of the deal and ruled that the CEO had continued to allow infringing network-programmed videos to be posted...
