Texas Voters Snub $217M Renovation Plan For Astrodome

Law360, New York (November 6, 2013, 11:18 AM EST) -- The Astrodome stadium's fate stands at a crossroads after Houston-area voters on Tuesday voted down a $217 million proposal to use city funds and new taxes to renovate the arena.

In a 53.43-46.57 percent vote, Harris County residents refused to support a new tax increase and the issuing of bonds that would be necessary to fund the redevelopment, according to county records.
