Statewide Class Cert. Stands In Volvo Sunroof Suit

Law360, Chicago (October 16, 2013, 7:48 PM EDT) -- A New Jersey federal judge Wednesday refused to reconsider his decision to certify six statewide classes of car buyers who accuse Volvo Car Corp. of selling vehicles with leaky sunroofs, rejecting the Swedish carmaker’s argument that an intervening U.S. Supreme Court decision upended the ruling.

In a brief opinion, U.S. District Judge Dennis M. Cavanaugh denied Volvo’s motion for reconsideration, which relied on the high court’s landmark decision in Comcast Corp. v. Behrend.
