Bombardier Says Sub Caused Delays In Airport Train Project

By Matt Chiappardi (October 21, 2013, 9:04 PM EDT) -- Bombardier Transportation (Holdings) USA Inc. on Monday sued a subcontractor in Pennsylvania federal court, saying the company's shoddy engineering work on a train system at the joint civil-military Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport caused a two-month delay and cost millions to repair.

In the suit in the Western District of Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh-based Bombardier accuses Phoenix-based engineering firm The CK Group Inc. of breach of contract for allegedly refusing to pay the cost of demolishing, redesigning and reconstructing a substantial portion of the track for the PHX Sky Train System Project, an automated rail system aimed at ferrying passengers around the airport...
