Orlando Magic Get Panel's OK For Land Buy In $200M Project

Law360, Miami (November 4, 2013, 7:40 PM EST) -- The Orlando City Council on Monday approved selling city-owned downtown property for $12.7 million to an entity owned by the National Basketball Association's Orlando Magic, which plans to develop a $200 million mixed-use complex adjacent to its home at the Amway Center.

The council's 7-0 vote provides a key step forward for SED Development LLC's proposal to build a hotel and conference center, office tower, retail, restaurants and possibly residential units as part of a sports and entertainment district extending north from the three-year-old arena....
