Miami-Dade Approves $50M Upgrades Of Sony Open Venue

Law360, Miami (November 5, 2013, 7:18 PM EST) -- Miami-Dade County commissioners on Tuesday signed off on a $50 million expansion of a Miami-area tennis facility by International Players Championship Inc., the organizer of the Sony Open tennis tournament.

The county commissioners voted 9-2 to approve amendments to the Crandon Park master plan that would allow for the expansion of tennis facilities by IPC, which is owned by sports management company IMG, despite calls from the public to delay the vote.
