Law360, New York (November 7, 2013, 7:04 PM EST) -- Lawyers for Major League Baseball on Thursday denied allegations that the league has made a deliberate attempt to destroy the career of New York Yankees’ player Alex Rodriguez, criticizing A-Rod’s lawsuit in its first court appearance in the contract and tort case.
“The allegations as a factual matter are either overstated, misstated or simply false,” lawyer Joseph Baumgarten of Proskauer Rose LLP told U.S. District Judge Lorna Schofield at a hearing in Manhattan federal court. Baumgarten did not go into details about the allegations.
