Chipotle Wards Off Class Cert. In 'Naturally Raised' Meat Suit

Law360, New York (December 3, 2013, 8:25 PM EST) -- A California judge on Monday shot down class certification efforts by a Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. customer alleging the chain falsely advertised its meat as humanely raised and free of antibiotics and hormones, saying class members' claims would be impossible to verify.

Fischer held that since Chipotle allegedly switched intermittently to alternate meat suppliers that didn't adhere to its touted "naturally raised” standards, evaluating each class member's experience would require individual determinations of the dates and details of their food purchases...
