Westfield Wins Retail Lease For $1.4B MTA Fulton Center

Law360, Washington (December 17, 2013, 4:19 PM EST) -- New York’s Metropolitan Transit Authority announced Monday that it had selected Australian shopping mall developer and operator The Westfield Group to run the retail space at its planned $1.4 billion Fulton Center transit and retail hub, beginning in 2014.

Under the terms of the lease deal, Westfield will control about 180,000 square feet of space at the lower Manhattan complex, consisting of 63,000 feet of retail space, 60,000 feet of “public circulation areas” and 57,000 feet for mechanical and “back of house” space, spread across multiple...
