Sony Open Organizer Wants In On Miami Tennis Dispute

Law360, Miami (January 3, 2014, 9:23 PM EST) -- The organizer of the Sony Open tennis tournament recently told a Florida court it should be a party in a legal challenge to its proposed $50 million expansion of a Miami-area tennis facility because of the effect of the litigation on its contractual rights.

In a strongly worded motion filed Dec. 30, Sony Open organizer International Players Championship Inc. asked for permission to realign the parties and be included as a full defendant and not just an intervenor, as it currently is now, in the lawsuit...
