Philly's SugarHouse Can Intervene In Licensing Of 2nd Casino

Law360, Philadelphia (January 9, 2014, 4:03 PM EST) -- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board said Wednesday that it would allow the operators of Philadelphia’s SugarHouse Casino to intervene and raise objections during proceedings aimed at awarding a license for a second gambling hall in the city.

The board’s decision comes after operators of the casino, located along the Delaware River waterfront in the city’s Northern Liberties neighborhood, argued in a petition in December that the development of a second gaming facility in Philadelphia would further saturate a regional market already burdened with too many casinos....
