Pinterest Blasts Pintrips' Bid To Toss Trademark Suit

Law360, New York (January 22, 2014, 6:12 PM EST) -- Pinterest Inc. blasted Pintrips Inc. on Wednesday over the travel planning site’s recent move to toss a trademark infringement suit on the grounds that “pin” is merely a generic term, calling it an ill-timed and “logically flawed” argument.

The filing came amid a trademark suit from Pinterest — a fast-growing network of virtual image pinboards — that claims Pintrips specifically chose its name to tread on the popularity of the bigger site.
