Starbucks Slammed Again For Shaving Tips

Law360, New York (March 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Starbucks Corp. has been hit with a class action alleging that it wrongly shared tips between baristas and managers, just days after the coffee chain was ordered to pay $105 million to California servers who levied similar charges.

In the proposed class action, lodged in Massachusetts state court on Tuesday, a barista accused Starbucks of breaching state laws that require pooled tips to be distributed entirely among servers and not to anyone whose job includes managerial duties.
