49ers Say Fan Filed Gunshot Liability Suit Too Late

Law360, San Francisco (February 25, 2014, 3:43 PM EST) -- The San Francisco 49ers urged a California judge on Tuesday to throw out a fan's contract and negligence lawsuit claiming the football team is liable for gunshot injuries he sustained in their stadium parking lot, arguing that the victim waited too long to sue.

The 49ers argue that Daniel Long's case, filed more than two years after he was shot four times in the Candlestick Park parking lot while trying to rescue a friend who had been beaten unconscious, exceeded the statute of limitations.
