NHL Players Body-Check League With 2nd Head Trauma Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (April 10, 2014, 10:40 PM EDT) -- The National Hockey League was slapped Wednesday with a second concussion-related putative class action, this time in New York federal court, in which a slew of former players say the league failed to take any meaningful action to curb the risk of head trauma during games and practices.

The suit, filed by nine former NHL players, alleges the NHL has fostered a culture of violence that puts players at risk of severe head injuries while yielding billions of dollars in revenue.
