Motorola Says FTAIA Ruling Supports $3.5B LCD Case

Law360, New York (June 6, 2014, 5:32 PM EDT) -- Motorola Mobility LLC argued Friday that a recent Second Circuit ruling on the scope of the Foreign Trade Antitrust Improvements Act supported its bid for the full Seventh Circuit to review its $3.5 billion in antitrust case against liquid crystal display makers.

Both Motorola and the defendants — which include Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., LG Display Co. and several other electronics manufacturers — have invoked the Second Circuit's Wednesday ruling, which endorsed the same narrower reading of the FTAIA that the Seventh Circuit applied in 2012...
