Drivers Want FedEx To Hand Over IRS Audit

Law360, New York (May 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Drivers bringing a class action against FedEx Ground Package System Inc. asked a court on Friday to force FedEx to hand over an Internal Revenue Service audit that tentatively found the drivers should be classified as employees, not independent contractors.

FedEx told investors about the audit in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in March but so far has not produced it in the class action in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, which includes about 25,000 plaintiffs. The...
