Plaintiffs Clear Class Hurdle In Sirius XM Wage Suit

By Pete Brush (November 7, 2014, 6:00 PM EST) -- Sirius XM Radio Inc. interns won a preliminary round Friday in their potential class action claiming the broadcaster violated labor laws by not paying them when a New York federal judge said evidence supports notifying some 1,000 possible claimants of their right to join the litigation.

Judge Valerie E. Caproni granted the notice motion and set a two-week deadline for the sides to confer about the exact nature of the missives. She said the plaintiffs had made the "modest factual showing" required and noted that the defense would have a crack at shutting down a class down the road.
