Gender Bias Plaintiffs Fight Sanofi's Subpoenas

Law360, New York (June 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Plaintiffs in a gender discrimination lawsuit against Sanofi-Aventis US LLC are lashing out at subpoenas the pharmaceutical company recently served on their current and prospective employers, arguing that the requests are overbroad and constitute harassment.

In court documents filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, proposed class representatives Karen Bellifemine, Amy Zeoli, Michelle Popa, Nancy Beaney and Jennifer Storm accused Sanofi of engaging in a fishing expedition by seeking privileged personnel records they said aren't relevant to the case....
