Strippers Say Sapphire Club in NY Cheated Them On Pay

Law360, New York (March 5, 2015, 2:56 PM EST) -- Sapphire Gentlemen's Club has been hit with a proposed wage-and-hour collective and class action in a New York federal court by exotic dancers who accuse the club of misclassifying them as independent contractors in an attempt to avoid paying minimum and overtime wages.

The suit, filed on Tuesday, says that the club's New York location, which has been at the center of similar suits in the past, is accused of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act and New York Labor Law by failing to pay extra wages for work more than 40 hours a week, minimum wage or spread of hours...
