Judge Tosses Salary-Fixing Suit Against Oil Cos.

Law360, New York (August 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Oil industry managers and technicians who sued more than a dozen oil companies over allegations of illegally sharing salary information to suppress growth in salary levels saw their consolidated antitrust case thrown out on Tuesday.

Judge Garrett E. Brown dismissed the case in In re: Compensation of Managerial, Professional and Technical Employees Antitrust Litigation in the U.S. District Court in the District of New Jersey.

Two earlier attempts to certify classes in the case have also failed.
