Oregon Court Mulls $43.5M Merrill FLSA Deal

Law360, New York (September 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A putative class and collective action wage-and-hour suit against Merrill Lynch in federal court in Manhattan has been put on hold while the parties wait to see if a court in Oregon approves a $43.5 million settlement deal pitched at the end of August.

On Wednesday, Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York continued the existing stay in a case accusing Merrill Lynch of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act and Massachussets state law.
