Hagens Berman Slammed With $10M Defamation Suit

Law360, New York (November 17, 2015, 3:47 PM EST) -- Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP was hit with a $10 million defamation suit on Monday by two real estate developers alleging that the firm’s press release and interviews about a suit accusing them of bullying elderly homeowners is false and has cost them a significant amount of business.

Ronald Richards, Michael Schlesinger and Oasis Ranch LLC alleged that the firm circulated a press release shortly after filing a suit on behalf of the Rancho Mirage Country Club Homeowners Association that accused the pair of depressing property values in an attempt to bully elderly homeowners into allowing development projects.
