FedEx To Pay $14.4M In Expenses To Workers

By Liz McKenzie (October 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- FedEx Corp. will shell out roughly $14.4 million in reimbursed job-related expenses and interest to current and former drivers of FedEx Ground.

William J. Cahill, a referee appointed by the California Superior Court, issued the award on Oct. 10, increasing the original payout granted by the 2005 trial court by nearly $9 million.

"For the 203 people covered by Estrada, this is a huge victory," said lead counsel for the California drivers Lynn Rossman Faris of Leonard Carder LLP.
