Drone Stakeholder Group Finalizes Best Practices

Law360, Washington (May 19, 2016, 3:36 PM EDT) -- Privacy advocates and technology, telecommunications, media and aerospace industry representatives brought together by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration finalized a set of voluntary best practices for the use of drones Wednesday, after more than a year in the making.

The best practices guidelines, unveiled at a meeting of the NTIA "multi-stakeholder group," cover privacy, transparency and accountability issues related to both the commercial and private use of drones — more formally, unmanned aircraft systems, or UAS.
