MTBE Judge Rebuffs Bid To Delay Trial

Law360 (December 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The federal district judge overseeing the methyl tertiary-butyl ether multidistrict litigation has denied a request for an adjournment made by plaintiffs in an upcoming trial in the long-standing product liability case.

On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Shira A. Scheindlin denied the plaintiffs' request for adjournment in the Tonesson et al. v. Sunoco Inc. et al. case and Basso et al. v. Sunoco Inc. et al., insisting that the parties stick to the Jan. 20 deadline for starting the proceedings.
