Illinois Seeks Private Partner For $425M Highway Project

Law360, New York (August 12, 2016, 5:07 PM EDT) -- The state of Illinois on Thursday announced that it is looking for input on a $425 million highway construction project that it hopes will ease traffic congestion between Chicago and some of its western suburbs, calling on private companies to provide the state with examples of what a private-public partnership might look like.

The Illinois Department of Transportation put out a request for proposals on Thursday, saying that it wants ideas from the private sector on how to approach a proposed 25-mile expansion of Interstate 55 in northeastern Illinois.
