Former NFL Player Sues Plan Over Disability Benefits

Law360 (January 15, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Former St. Louis Rams football player Gaylon M. Hyder has sued the National Football League's benefits plan for retired players, accusing the plan of wrongfully denying him disability benefits for a kidney condition that was exacerbated when the Rams' doctor prescribed him Vioxx, an anti-inflammatory he says he should not have taken.
