Sprint Reaches $8.8M Settlement In FLSA OT Case

Law360, New York (January 15, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Sprint Nextel Corp. has agreed to pay $8.8 million to settle a class action alleging that it failed to pay overtime to call center workers in eight states.

The plaintiffs in the suit filed a motion seeking approval of the settlement on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas.

There are three separate settlements — one each involving workers in New York and California under the laws of those states, and another covering the other six states under the Fair Labor Standards...
