Columbia Pictures, Other Studios Reach Deals in OT Suits

By Suevon Lee (September 13, 2016, 8:54 PM EDT) -- Several major film studios have reached a settlement in principle with parking production assistants who allege they were overworked and underpaid on the sets of "American Hustle" and other projects, according to a Tuesday letter by defense counsel.

A Paul Hastings LLP lawyer representing Marvel Studios LLC, one of the named parties in the proposed class action, told U.S. District Judge Richard J. Sullivan that three studios have reached an agreement in principle with the assistants, as he requested an extension of a current court-imposed stay of discovery until Nov. 15 so other defendants could reach possible resolutions.
