Avis Car Rental Workers Snag Cert. In OT Suit

Law360, New York (October 27, 2016, 5:42 PM EDT) -- A Massachusetts judge Wednesday gave the go-ahead to a class action suit alleging Avis Budget Car Rental LLC misclassified employees as managers to avoid paying them overtime.

U.S. District Court Judge Dennis Saylor IV approved former Avis “damage manager” Fernando Cunha’s motion to certify the class in his federal Fair Labor Standards Act suit against Avis, finding he had provided sufficient evidence there were other similarly situated employees working for Avis nationwide.
