Ala. Tribe Wins Permanent Block On Local Tax Assessments

Law360, New York (December 6, 2016, 5:45 PM EST) -- A federal judge on Monday permanently barred the assessment of state and local taxes on land held in trust for the Poarch Band of Creek Indians by the federal government, handing the tribe a win in its lawsuit against an Alabama county tax official.
