Adelson Settles With WSJ Reporter Over 'Foul Mouth' Claims

Law360, Los Angeles (January 12, 2017, 10:08 PM EST) -- Sheldon Adelson has settled a lawsuit he brought in Hong Kong against a reporter for The Wall Street Journal over a 2012 story that referred to the billionaire casino magnate as “foul-mouthed,” a spokeswoman for the paper confirmed Thursday.

Neither party paid money to end the suit and each is covering its own legal costs, according to the Journal. The story in question, in which reporter Kate O’Keeffe described Adelson as “a scrappy, foul-mouthed billionaire from working-class Dorchester, Mass.,” will remain online with no changes, according to a report in the WSJ Thursday.
