Claims Dropped In Muni Derivatives Antitrust MDL

Law360 (February 20, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A number of cities and counties have recently dropped claims against National Westminster Bank PLC and Genworth Financial Inc. in multidistrict litigation accusing the nation's largest financial institutions of price-fixing in the municipal derivatives market.

National Westminster Bank, which is a member of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, was dropped Tuesday from all cases in the litigation pending in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

The claims were dropped voluntarily without prejudice, leaving the door open for plaintiffs to refile....
