Port Authority OKs $32.2B Capital Plan For Transpo Projects
By Linda Chiem (February 16, 2017, 7:25 PM EST) -- The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey on Thursday signed off on a $32.2 billion, 10-year capital plan, advancing plans to fund a new bus terminal on Manhattan's west side, the long-awaited third tunnel under the Hudson River, and the ongoing redevelopment of LaGuardia Airport.
The Port Authority's board of commissioners approved the capital plan, said to be its largest ever, notably carving out some $11.6 billion for major redevelopment projects at LaGuardia, Newark Liberty International Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport, along with $10 billion for improving tunnels, bridges and terminals, among other things.
