By Andrew McIntyre ( July 5, 2017, 5:50 PM EDT) -- Newport Capital Partners has purchased a mall in Chicago's Peterson Park neighborhood for $30.5 million from real estate investment trust InvenTrust Properties Corp., Crain's Chicago Business reported Wednesday. The deal is for Lincoln Village, a 164,000-square-foot property that is 65 percent vacant following Office Depot's vacating the property late last year, the report said. The mall once had a Hollywood Kiddieland amusement park, but that portion of the mall closed in the 1970s, according to the report....
