Ex-Katten Atty Says Shkreli Verdict Nixes Conspiracy Count

Law360, New York (August 21, 2017, 9:18 PM EDT) -- Lawyers for Evan Greebel, the former Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP attorney accused of helping Martin Shkreli pull off securities fraud, said Friday they were “shocked and dismayed” prosecutors haven't dropped a conspiracy charge against Greebel that Shkreli himself was acquitted of earlier this month.

One of the accusations against Greebel is that he conspired with Shkreli to defraud Shkreli's former pharmaceutical company, Retrophin Inc., by using Retrophin shares to repay duped investors in Shkreli's hedge funds, MSMB Capital Management and MSMB Healthcare Management.
