Ford Says Firms Lied To Get Drivers To Opt Out Of Deal

Law360, New York (October 17, 2017, 1:53 PM EDT) -- Ford took aim Monday at two law firms representing about 12,500 Fiesta and Focus drivers, claiming they misled their clients in an effort to get them to opt out of a proposed settlement over allegedly defective transmissions.

In a short filing, Ford Motor Co. said that Stern Law PLLC and The Liblang Law Firm used false or misleading statements to convince thousands of people to exclude themselves from the proposed deal either by filing their own lawsuits, opting out, or both. The automaker didn’t provide further...
