Fla. Firms To Pay $9.1M For Engle Ethics Disaster

Law360, Miami (October 19, 2017, 1:10 PM EDT) -- In a 148-page order Thursday, a panel of Florida federal judges “reluctantly but with the conviction that it is the right thing to do” imposed $9.1 million in sanctions on The Wilner Firm and Farah & Farah following an investigation that found they filed and maintained at least 1,250 baseless Engle progeny tobacco lawsuits.
