Real Estate Rumor Mill: Willis Tower, Google, Essex

By Andrew McIntyre (March 4, 2015, 8:09 PM EST) -- Chicago's Willis Tower, the second-tallest building in the country behind New York's One World Trade Center, is up for sale and likely already has a buyer, the Chicago Tribune reported, citing a source with knowledge of the deal. The 110-story tower, which is home to United Airlines, is 84 percent leased and owned by Joseph Chetrit, Joseph Moinian and American Landmark Properties Ltd., the Chicago paper said. The building was the Sears Tower until 2009, when it was renamed the Willis Tower in connection with an agreement for Willis Group Holdings PLC to lease space in the building, the Tribune said....
