In a ruling filed Thursday, a Texas federal judge pared a putative securities class action against BP PLC and its units and executives over losses the investors in Ohio pension funds sustained after the British oil giant allegedly overstated its disaster readiness ahead of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion. Correction: An earlier story suggested the suit is part of a larger class action. The error has been corrected.
