Class Wins Cert. In Southern Co. 'Clean Coal' Plant Row

Law360 (August 23, 2019, 7:08 PM EDT) -- A Georgia federal court on Thursday granted class status to a group of shareholders suing Southern Co. over a botched project to build a so-called "clean coal" plant in Mississippi.

Along with granting class certification in the case, U.S. District Judge William M. Ray II additionally named Roofers Local No. 149 Pension Fund and Monroe County Employees' Retirement System as class representatives and Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP as class counsel.
