Financial Cos. Slap Arby's With Suits Over Data Breach

Law360, Los Angeles (February 24, 2017, 9:11 PM EST) -- Arby's Restaurant Group Inc. was hit with at least three putative class actions in Georgia federal court Thursday and Friday for allegedly lax data security measures over point-of-sale systems that exposed the chain to a four-month-long data breach, according to court filings.

The fast food restaurant chain's systems were exposed to malware between Oct. 25, 2016, and Jan. 19, 2017, that compromised customers' credit and debit card information, the suits allege, causing financial harm to such card payment-issuing companies as North Alabama Educators Credit Union, Wanigas Credit Union, Gulf Coast Bank & Trust Company and First Choice Federal Credit Union....
