Justices Approve Individual Appeals In Combined Cases

By Jon Hill (March 27, 2018, 10:56 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled that when there is a final decision in one of multiple consolidated cases, that decision can be immediately appealed while the other cases are still pending.

The Supreme Court's unanimous decision reverses the Third Circuit's dismissal of an appeal brought by a woman engaged in a long-standing legal battle on behalf of her mother's estate and builds on the high court's 2015 ruling in Gelboim v. Bank of America Corp..
