Celebrity Chef Settles FLSA Action With NY Workers

Law360, New York (January 30, 2014, 1:05 PM EST) -- Celebrity chef Daniel Boulud reached a proposed settlement with a group of workers at a few of his New York restaurants who alleged in a collective action that he improperly reduced their pay to account for tips, according to a motion filed Wednesday seeking approval of the pact.

The financial terms of the deal, which would resolve the claims of nearly 90 workers who said Boulud broke federal and state laws by failing to pay them minimum wage and paying overtime at an incorrect rate, were confidential.
