Yelp Wins $2M Judgment Against Online Review Co. Revleap

Law360 (March 7, 2018, 7:42 PM EST) -- A California federal court entered a $2 million judgment Tuesday in Yelp's favor, ruling online review company Revleap had violated a settlement agreement of a Yelp suit alleging Revleap had undermined it by publishing fake positive reviews.

U.S. District Judge Lucy H. Koh said Revleap co-founders Edward J. Herzstock and Alec Farwell had agreed in 2016 not to use or refer to Yelp or its website or marks in any way, except as specified in the agreement, yet Yelp offered persuasive evidence that the Revleap executives...
