Weil Downplayed Atty Conflict, Convicted Insys Exec Says

Law360 (September 10, 2019, 4:34 PM EDT) -- Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP misled a convicted Insys executive about the firm's conflicts, telling him the fact that the firm also represented Insys while the company cooperated with the government meant "nothing" to him, his new legal team told a Massachusetts federal court Tuesday.

Rich Simon, Insys Therapeutics Inc.'s former national sales director, continued to push for a new trial in a supplemental memorandum, sharing communications between himself and his former counsel at Weil that he says suggested he never properly consented to the conflict.
