ZTE Takes Step Toward Lifting US Export Restrictions

Law360 (July 11, 2018, 8:49 PM EDT) -- ZTE Corp. has inked a deal with the U.S. Department of Commerce that has it depositing $400 million in an escrow account to lift a denial order that’s blocking its access to the U.S. supply chain, the government said Wednesday.

The Bureau of Industry and Security, housed under the Commerce Department’s wing, said that as soon as the Chinese technology company pays the money, the agency will lift the order blocking ZTE’s access to the U.S. market, according to a statement posted on Twitter.
