Virgin America Says Actress Can't Sue Over Viral Video

Law360 (April 16, 2018, 4:56 PM EDT) -- Virgin America pushed a California federal court Friday to toss a copyright lawsuit filed by a Broadway actress who lent her voice to a viral-hit safety video, claiming she didn’t have “any role whatsoever” in making it.

In a motion to dismiss filed Friday, the airline said the lawsuit, filed by Broadway actress Noemi Del Rio over a video in which she raps voice-over instructions about oxygen masks, represents a “fundamental misunderstanding of copyright law.”
